Democratic Rep. Debbie Dingell of Michigan took a dig at former President Trump's Christmas message, calling for various people who want to "destroy" the country to "rot in hell." She heard her greeting.
Dingell was asked on CNN on Tuesday if the situation was getting worse regarding threats against public servants, and she said, "It's getting worse and worse...I honestly believe it is." said. Truth Social, President Trump said he was leading the Justice Department's investigation into the former president's actions related to the 2020 election and the Capitol riots that came under surveillance on January 6, 2021. He lashed out at world leaders and public figures including Special Counsel Jack Smith.
"Merry Christmas to everyone, including deranged Jack Smith, perverse Joe Biden's only hope," President Trump posted. He has often called Smith "crazy" and repeatedly accused the special counsel of working to advance what he described as President Biden's "political agenda."

Dingell said Trump is “contributing to the divisiveness [and] division” in the nation, a nod to her tension with the former president in recent years.
In 2019, Trump insulted Dingell and her late husband, former Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich. President Trump criticized Dingell for voting in favor of her impeachment, saying her late husband, who died in February and was the longest-serving Congresswoman in history, was ‘‘looking up‘‘ from her hell.
